Book Review of Dark Desire.
I liked Dark Desire more than Dark Prince, but not enough to continue following the series.

Dark Desire does better than Dark Prince because I can forgive the male protagonist's high-handed behaviour. After surviving years of torture and imprisonment, it is believable that Jacques is not always in control of himself and will at times lash out at those around him especially at the start of the story. And his behaviour and attitude does improve along with his health.

Other than that though, what I like and dislike about the series remains the same. The Carpathian's transformations are described beautifully but there is a severe imbalance in the relationships in the story. Despite all the talk about not allowing themselves to be bullied, there is a tendency for the women to be left safely waiting at home or be victims in need of rescuing.

My conclusion : Borrow the book for a read.
