Book Review of The Dream Hunter.
I didn't expect to enjoy The Dream Hunter but I did. More than the first time I read it. Megeara and Arik seems to be more interesting than I remember. Megeara is a strong heroine who actually does save Arik instead of the other way around. Also while she is attracted to Arik, she doesn't fall immediately into his arms nor stop being suspicious of him too early in the story. As for Arik, the gaps in his knowledge especially on social norms is believable. What he knows of our world, he learned from dreams. Following their story as they progress from attraction to love was fun.
As an added bonus, there were even details which I missed before, like the name of Megeara's boat. We also learn more of the Oneroi world and the curse placed on the dream gods It will certainly be interesting to find out how they escape the curse, their future role and whether Megeara's naming choice was simple coincidence or more.
My conclusion : The Dream Hunter is an enjoyable read with intriguing glimpses of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dream-Hunter world to get the reader interested in the series.
My favourite books from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter and Dream-Hunter series so far :

You know I may have to re-read their story, it has been so long. The Dream Hunters were always hit/miss for me while reading the series. It seemed they were always really part of a powerful book or it was just flat. You reading them makes me want to read them again!
